MIRROR OF THE WORLD Masterpieces from the Dresden Art Collections
The 15 museums of the Dresden State Art Collections recount over 450 years of history. Now world-renowned, the Cabinet of art and curiosities (Kunstkammer) of the Prince-electors of Saxony represents the starting point for the collections. From its inception in the mid-16th century, the sovereigns sought to collect artworks (artificialia) as well as books and scientific devices (scientifica), natural wonders (naturalia) and objects not from Europe. Kunstkammern followed the idea of bringing together the world in miniature, and so ethnografica in particular became very popular.

everyday from 10:30 am to 7pm
open Monday evenings until 10pm,
exceptionally closed on 25 December,
open from 10.30 am to 6pm on 24 and 31 December

13 €, 9 € reduced
special rate for young people aged 16-25 :
9 € for 2 persons from Monday to Friday
after 4 pm, free for children under 16 without reservation
